CULTURE & TRADITION
-
The exhibition, curated by Simone Baiocco and Simonetta Castronovo, aims to recompose the figure of Antoine de Lonhy, a multifaceted artist - a painter, illuminator, stained glass master, sculptor and author of embroidery designs - who in the second half of the fifteenth century had an extraordinarily important influence in terms of the renewal of the figurative panorama of the present-day Piemonte territory.
Having come into contact with Flemish, Mediterranean and Savoyard culture, he was the bearer of a European concept of the Renaissance, characterised by the ability to synthesise various figurative languages.
