CIPRO. CROCEVIA DELLE CIVILTÀ

The millenary charm of Cyprus told through the collections of the Museum of Antiquity, which constitute an almost unique nucleus in the panorama of the great European museums: over 1000 finds, the result of donations made since 1847 under Marcello Cerruti, the consul of the Kingdom of Sardegna, and above all thanks to the excavations conducted by Luigi Palma di Cesnola, American consul on the island who was, however, born in Torino.
The exhibition is enriched by loans, for the first time in Italia, from illustrious foreign institutions, including the British Museum in London, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, the Medelhavsmuseet in Stockholm, the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna and the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia.
